We are accepting funds to help purchase urgently needed resources for our San Diego firefighters, lifeguards, and paramedics during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The men and women of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD) are leaving their families behind and heading into the field to make sure the residents of San Diego remain protected. Often the first to make contact with a patient, they truly are serving on the front line. But they are faced with an urgent need for personal protective equipment (PPE) such as disposable gowns, face masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer. Their risk for exposure is significant, and already a handful of first responders have tested positive for COVID-19 and many more are being monitored because of exposure.
Please donate today to help keep our first responders healthy, safe, and ready to respond.
In the event donations exceed the SDFD's coronavirus-related needs, any additional funds will go toward purchases requested by Fire Chief Colin Stowell.
